What if we could make bicycle safety fun to learn? The idea behind this project was to create a sonic intervention that both made it fun to learn about bicycle safety but that also could change behavior. The goal was to inform people that they need to be more aware of bicyclists when operating a motor vehicle. By using large and small type on posters (similar to an eye chart), I was able to draw in viewers and make them approach the poster. This approach triggers a motion sensor that is connected to my laptop via a microprocessor called an Arduino. This plays sounds that relate to cars approaching a bicyclist on the road.
